From the National Weather Service:
"A record rainfall of 3.77 inch(es) was set at Boston yesterday. This breaks the old record of 1 inch set in 1882."
Our new house has a stream running through the back yard. I drove by this morning and saw that the stream--a trickle when we last visited the house a few weeks ago--is now a river that threatens its banks. I've asked our realtor to find out whether the house is taking on water.
